It begs the question about who pays for cycling your batteries regarding EVs?

EV manufacturers are giving warranties of 10 years on EV batteries, that's based on average usage of charging your vehicle & then using it to drive around.
But if people plug them in & leave them overnight to be used to power the grid the batteries could be cycled twice as often than if just used to drive around with.

So twice as many cycles means that instead of lasting 10+ years they last 5+ years on average. EV manufacturers aren't going to give the same 10 year warranties for vehicles that power the grid. If they do costs of EVs will rise significantly.

Will the money you receive overnight for the electricity you provide the grid from your EV pay to replace the batteries in 5-10 years?
    I very much doubt it.

I think there's actually a very good business model where individuals control when they actually provide their stored energy to the grid. At the moment all the power is with the 'energy cartel' that controls the grid.
A disruptor that controlled when individuals could switch on & off their connection to the grid could be very profitable.
Imaging sitting there & being able to switch on your connection to supply the grid only when the rate hit 50c KWH!
