The title of this article is literally the testimony of the experience I had last weekend in a computer store with which I usually do business. To put you in context, it turns out that I had to buy a new mobile because the one I had was destroyed by the teeth of my fierce pet, Piper, a beautiful fox terrier that we have at home and who just turned one year old. I bought the phone, I brought it home and, when I was putting the frame with the SIM card and the memory SD, without any intention on my part, I applied more force than necessary and it blocked. He didn't go all the way in and he couldn't get it out either.
I asked my wife for help, and she couldn't either. The typical thoughts of a circumstance like this began to haunt my mind: "Gee, Joel, you haven't even had a day with the phone and you've already broken it!"... "You have to see, as if money grew in trees”… “Really, who Special Database told you to be so rude?”… “And what are you going to do now? Because the mistake was yours and it is not covered by the guarantee. And you know. Also, since the mistake was mine and I'm not one of those people who make up stories like “I just don't know…. That was like this”, because I began to feel the anguish of having to throw the phone in the trash and lose the money I invested in it, or that when I called the technician to ask him how much the repair would cost, he ended the joke by costing me a significant amount of money. money. In short… the anguish that we all feel when an unforeseen event like this occurs.
It was Friday night. So I decided to wait until it was Saturday and, very early in the morning, get in touch with the two technicians I know to see what the economic scope of my error had been and how much the repair would cost me. Because my mind was already telling me that, in all possible scenarios, grace was going to cost me money. For me, this whole situation was translating into enormous anguish for many reasons: I didn't know if the phone could be repaired or not, because maybe it could have damaged some part inside. I would not know how much the repair would cost me, if it was possible to do it. I would not know how long I would have to be without a mobile phone this time, with all the inconveniences that this means in this modern society in which we live. If the problem had no solution, then the grace would cost me perhaps 325 euros: 150 from the first phone that I had already bought and that I would have to throw away, 150 from the replacement and 25 from the technician.
